Parameters

  • Staged Construction: Staged construction and a strategic phasing plan allowed existing spaces to remain fully functional for staff while remaining spaces were under construction
  • Noise: Controlling noise in meeting areas and open work environments
  • Lighting: Maximize the amount of natural lighting throughout the entire office complex
  • Way Finding: Develop a means to easily navigate space

Solutions

  • Phasing Plans: Strategic phasing plans with clear hoarding lines were established in partnership with Building Services to resolve existing building life and safety plans for the duration of construction and staged construction
  • Acoustic Strategies: Best solutions for decreased noise levels were developed in partnership with an acoustic consultant. These strategies include acoustic spray foam at all exposed ceilings and the use of acoustic clouds above meeting rooms and throughout open workspaces. Additionally, mechanical units were replaced along with the introduction of sound dampening in new systems.
  • Prefabricated Modular Systems: Glazed modular systems used for meeting rooms allow natural light to flow through the entire space white light
  • Way Finding: Neighborhoods established with streets, corridors, pathways, distinct names and colours
